Fast-rising rapper Almighty Bempong has expressed commitment to changing the negative narrative surrounding musicians in the country.
According to him, many Ghanaians viewed musicians as those who are not deep thinkers and fond of engaging in immoralities.
Speaking in an interview with Max Drive in Accra on Friday, the musician who doubles as a banker said he wanted to change that narrative for musicians to be viewed in a positive light.
“I want to change that mentality for the youth to follow in my footprints. The fact that you’re a musician doesn’t mean you can’t be a deep thinker or you can’t do a corporate job. They can still have their clean, decent lifestyle and still have their regular careers while blending the music with it,” he added.
Bempong also used the opportunity to urge the youth to be cautious, especially during this year’s elections, and to eschew all frivolous activities that might lead to violence and war.
Asked about what he would do if he had given power for 24 hours to make it to heaven and would not be judged based on that thing he intended doing, he said he would make everyone have a relief for those 24 hours.
However, Bempong indicated that he would not make anyone rich, neither would he give anyone money to give meaning to life.
“If there’s no death, life will never have a meaning to it. If all are rich, there will be no poor person, noting that inequality balances life to give it more meaning,” he added.
Throughout his career, Almighty Bempong has released four EPs out of his eleven projects and is still gasping to be a superstar, hoping to break borders with his rap music.
