Former Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, according to Ghanaian football legend, Andre Dede Ayew, should have received the boot long ago.
After serving as caretaker coach to qualify Ghana for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Otto Addo finally accepted the substantive coach position following the sacking of Chris Hughton in 2024.
The German-trained gaffer rejoined the Black Stars with high expectations but eventually managed to record the country’s biggest failure after 20 years.
Ghana were bad on the pitch, leading to them missing out on the continental fiesta in Morrocco.
Long-time Ghana captain, who once played under the coach, believed such failure should’ve resulted in a sacking.
“I think that should have happened long before. I think when you’re Ghana, and not qualified for AFCON, you can’t call it better. That’s my conjecture,” Ayew said on the Obi podcast.
