On Tuesday, the couple posted a photo displaying their hands adorned with wedding bands, though they did not share any details about the ceremony or specify the exact date of their wedding.

Recall that Max Online reported the date of the wedding between the Portuguese captain and his longtime sweetheart.

This announcement puts an end to years of speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage. Last Saturday, hundreds of fans gathered around the Funchal Cathedral in Madeira—Cristiano Ronaldo’s hometown—following rumors of a possible ceremony in the capital of the Portuguese archipelago.

Other reports had also suggested the Lisbon area as a potential wedding location. However, none of these rumors were confirmed by the couple before the publication of this photo.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez met in 2016 and have maintained a highly publicized relationship ever since. The couple announced their engagement about a year ago, after several years of living together and building a family.
