Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that talks are currently underway to appoint the successor to Carlos Queiroz, whose short-term contract expired after the 2026 World Cup.

A member of the GFA Executive Council, Gideon Fosu, confirmed the progress of negotiations.

Speaking to Citi Sports, he assured that the Ghanaian national team won’t be without a permanent head coach for long and that a new manager will be in place before the next official fixtures.

“We are still in discussions, negotiations are ongoing. I am confident that, in due time, the president of the Federation will announce the name of the next Black Stars head coach,” he stated.

Appointed last April, Carlos Queiroz was brought in with a mission largely focused on the 2026 World Cup.

The 73-year-old Portuguese tactician succeeded Otto Addo, who was dismissed in March, but talks to extend his stay ultimately fell through.
