Renowned musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known in the showbiz circles as Mzbel, is weeping bitterly over her sibling who saw her tragic death at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Her sister, who is believed to have been denied emergency healthcare needs due to the “no vacant bed available” until she died, saw the singer making an outburst on social media.
Mzbel went on Facebook Live to address the devastating effects of the “no bed syndrome”, lamenting that the issue was alarming.
She blamed successive governments for failed promises to secure hospital beds and amenities to furnish Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in giving quality healthcare.
“”Ever since I was a child, Korle Bu always didn’t have beds for patients. I am now 47 years old and still nothing has been done about it. This no bed syndrome has led to the loss of life of many people which is affecting families. Politicians will always campaign that they will provide adequate beds but they don’t. This shouldn’t even be a political promise. It is the job of the president to ensure quality healthcare needs of the people,” she lamented.
Mzbel, who was dressed in black, mourned her sister and called for an urgent need for the government to solve the healthcare problems.
