Cheetah FC-trained Kwasi Sibo’s transfer to Libyan club Al Swehly has come as a shock to football experts, including Nana Kwarteng, a FIFA agent.

Sibo’s career has seen him moving from Banants and then signing a long-term deal with Watford FC in 2020. He went on loan to two other clubs after failing to settle at the English club.

Spending years in the lower leagues of Spanish football led to a fairytale promotion to La Liga with the legendary Santi Cazorla as his captain at Real Oviedo.

After having represented Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and out of contract since leaving Spain, Sibo is now following the money as he signs for Al Swehly.

Nana Kwarteng, with all his experience in the Arabian markets, strongly advised against the midfielder’s $10 million move.

“Kwasi Sibo’s move to the Libyan club is worrying. The move will shorten his career… Libya is not a stable country,” said the FIFA agent on Max FM’s Sports Pack show.

Libyan clubs, according to Nana Kwarteng, are notoriously known for withholding payments to foreign players, hence making it an unattractive place to play.
