English singer Adele is compelled to postpone her Las Vegas residency next month due to illness.
She announced this on social media, apologizing to fans for the inconvenience and explaining that she had not fully recovered from her illness.
After falling ill at the end of the last leg of her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the “Hello” hitmaker said she had not fully recovered.
She also postponed all five weekends in March but told her followers they would receive the later dates as soon as possible.
“Sadly, I have to take a break and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break,” Adele posted.
The sickness, she indicated, had affected her voice, which would make it difficult for her to even sing, and she had to follow medical advice to rest.
“I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed, and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately, it’s all taken a toll on my voice.”
“And so, on doctors’ orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date.”
Addressing her fans, the Set Fire to the Rain star said, “I love you” and “I’ll miss you like mad.”
It’s the second time she has postponed Las Vegas show dates.
In January 2022, the Tottenham-born star postponed his residency abruptly due to COVID and instead ran from November 2022 until March 2023.
Her second leg ended last November, but Adele said playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights was “not enough” and announced the residency extension.
Aside from the 10 dates she postponed, Adele has five more weekends lined up in Vegas in May and June.
The Grammy winner recently announced she would play in Europe for the first time since 2016, with four nights booked in Germany for August.
In a booking that she called “a bit random,” Adele would be performing in Munich’s Messe exhibition center, which boasts a capacity of 80,000.
She last played in the UK in July 2022 at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
