As Ghana is out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament, two dancehall giants, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, clash over the performance of the Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
After Ghana was defeated by Colombia with one goal, Shatta Wale, in a post, stated that he did not expect much from the goalkeeper, Ati-Zigi, once he saw the former coach of the team, Carlos Queiroz’s, lineup for the game.
“I told my wife if it’s that goalkeeper dierr they will score us quick,” he tweeted.
When the post began to create division among the football fans, with some believing that Benjamin Asare would have outperformed Ati-Zigi, Stonebwoy levelled up with a post that the intervention of Ati-Zigi rather saved Ghana from humiliation.
“That defeat would have been more humiliating than 1-0 if not for Ati Zigi. You did this for Ghana. You are highly appreciated,” he said.
Stonebwoy stated that Ati-Zigi’s seven crucial saves prevented a blowout and urged Ghanaians not to create enmity between the two goalkeepers.
Meanwhile, Colombia underlined its credentials as a FIFA World Cup 2026 dark horse with a controlled Round of 32 victory over Ghana at Kansas City Stadium when the Black Stars clashed with the team on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The match, which started around 1:00 am, ended with a scoreline of 1:0 against the Black Stars, eliminating them from the tournament.
