‎In a report by the Ghana Armed Forces, the chopper, a Z9, had taken off at 0912hrs from Accra and was heading for Obuasi.

‎All eight persons on board, namely the Ministers of Defence and Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah and Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, MP, Tamale Central, were confirmed dead.

‎Reacting to the unfortunate news in an exclusive interview with Max Drive on Wednesday, Selina indicated that the news was unfortunate and prayed that God would preserve their souls.

‎”It’s a sad day for Ghana but God knows best. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family because this is tragic, seeing yourself burning alive and there’s nothing you could do to help yourself. I pray that God should keep their souls,” she lamented.

‎Selina went further to advise Ghanaians not to politicize this tragic event but should treat it as a national emergency to support the bereaved family.

‎Announcing the unfortunate incident, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, extended President, John Dramani Mahama and government’s condolences and sympathies to the families for their comrades and servicemen who died in service to the country.
