Mustapha Ussif is the worst performing sports minister ever – Hon. Woyome

Date:

A member of Parliament for South Tongu district, Hon. Kwabena Woyome, has agreed with claims that Hon. Mustapha Ussif is the worst sports minister the country has ever witnessed.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif, who holds a master’s degree in finance and investment from the University of Gloucestershire, angrily reacted to a remark from a member of the Parliamentary Select committee on Sports about being very bad at his role as minister for youth and sports, requesting data to affirm that claim.

In response to the minister’s outburst on Max FM’s Sports Pack show, the South Tongu MP, who is also on the Committee, agreed with his colleague’s comment toward the minister.

“I agree in the sense that his performance is so abysmal. I mean, we have not recorded such low points in our football and that we are also getting lots of bad names. That is why our rankings have become so low on the FIFA rankings. And so if nothing is bad, what about this one?” he said.

Since his appointment on January 7, 2021, the national youth sides of Ghana have failed to qualify for global showpieces, according to Hon. Woyome, with the exception of the Black Princesses, who once again failed to make it past the group stages of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia in September 2024.
