Clubs, including Accra Hearts of Oak, are looking to intensify preparations on the field ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.
New head coach for the club, Nebojša Kapor, as part of fine-tuning his squad, will engage in a four-team tournament organised by them.
The Accra City Invitational Tournament is set to begin from August 21 to 23 and, set up by the Phobians, also includes Port City, Swedru All Blacks, and Vision FC.
The public relations officer of the club, Kwame Opare Addo, spoke on Max FM’s Sports Pack show, highlighting the need for a competitive tournament to get the squad in shape.
“The tournament will help assess the strength of the squad. We will approach the tournament with the same seriousness as we will with the Democracy Cup and the Ghana Premier League.”
Hearts surprisingly withdrew from the 2026 GHALCA Top 4 Tournament to form the Accra City Invitational Tournament.
