Veteran Highlife musician, Amandzeba Nat Brew has called on Ghanaians not to mourn Daddy Lumba.
According to him, Daddy Lumba led a life worth celebrating and should be celebrated for the musical milestone and all his career accomplishments.
Amandzeba said this during an exclusive interview on Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday.
”Me, a person like Daddy Lumba I won’t mourn him, I will celebrate him instead. How come a person who used all his life to entertain you while in his death you want to mourn him?” he queried.
Amandzeba further stated that Daddy Lumba was a master orator and a magician whose lyrics were profound, stressing that he constantly released hit tracks to entertain, thus, should be appreciated for the unique talent he brought to the industry.
”I look at music as a spiritual opening for everybody so I relate to everybody who sings, who plays something, who actually adds up to music because music is magic. You’re not seeing it form, if not for someone putting it on musical notation.”
”It’s so intangible that it is magical so that practitioners and those who sing can form it and bring it to life. Lumba’s appreciation is his oratory. He is a master orator,” he explained.
Amandzeba therefore, expressed the need for the fallen musician to be celebrated instead of being mourned.
