Dancehall star Stonebwoy has described comments by broadcaster Kwabena Bobie Ansah as “disrespectful” after the presenter chose Shatta Wale over him on personality.
The Accra FM presenter said he prefers Shatta Wale’s character because the SM boss speaks his mind and airs his grievances openly, while accusing Stonebwoy of bottling up his feelings instead of confronting issues.
The remarks did not sit well with the multiple award-winning artiste, who fired back in a post on X.
“See how this man disrespectfully describes me for no reason. This reply is evidence that I can reply to anyone, anytime and anywhere, instantly — just as I am doing now. I hold nothing in my heart. I speak when I choose to, not when others expect me to,” Stonebwoy wrote.
The Grammy-nominated artiste said the presenter was free to choose his favourite without attacking another brand. He added that he could have insulted the presenter the way his favourite artiste would but chose restraint out of respect for elders and to discourage the glorification of conduct he considers damaging.
The exchange has reignited the long-running Stonebwoy–Shatta Wale rivalry that has dominated Ghana’s dancehall scene for years.
Following backlash, Kwabena Bobie has since apologised to Stonebwoy, saying he did not intend to disrespect him.
