‎Ghana doesn’t celebrate heroes—Amandzeba

Date:

Renowned highlife musician, Amandzeba Nat Brew has called for national efforts in celebrating and acknowledging individuals who have contributed immensely to national development.

‎According to him, Ghana has not celebrated its heroes enough and expressed the need for the narrative to change.

‎Speaking exclusively on Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday, the “Kpaalogo” hitmaker asserted that no one in Ghana has been celebrated enough for helping in a developmental agenda.

‎”Nobody in this country who has actually contributed greatly to the development of this nation is celebrated enough. Nkrumah has never been celebrated enough,” he said.

‎Amandzeba expressed disappointment in the country for celebrating saints and other martyrs while they kept disregarding the national heroes.

‎”Though traditionalists yearly offer mashed African yam garnished with hard-boiled eggs popularly called “Eto” to Yaa Asantewaa but we are saluting Saint Joseph and Saint Andrews daily. We don’t see ourselves eulogizing people who are heroes,” he lamented.

‎Amandzeba indicated that the industry  advocated for the hall of fame but nothing had been done, adding that any African who had been able to come up with a unique problem solving ability dies mysteriously.

‎He therefore underscored the need for Ghanaians to celebrate legends in order to encourage the youth to contribute their quota to national development.

‎”We must honor those whose honor is due from Kakaiku to  C.K Mann to Nii Tei Ashitey and now Daddy Lumba. This will propel the youth to learn that if they also contribute immensely to national development, they will be celebrated,” he added.
