Petrol and diesel prices are expected to decline marginally from Friday, October 16, 2026, while Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is projected to record a sharp 18.5 per cent increase per kilogram.
According to the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), petrol prices are expected to fall by nearly two per cent to GH¢17.67 per litre during the next fuel pricing window.
Diesel prices are also projected to decline by 3.32 per cent to GH¢19.30 per litre, offering some relief to motorists and businesses that rely on fuel.
However, LPG consumers could face higher costs, with prices expected to rise by 18.5 per cent to GH¢20.60 per kilogram.
The projected adjustments follow a relatively stable pricing window on October 1, when most oil marketing companies maintained their pump prices.
The decision came after the introduction of a GH¢2 levy on diesel and government interventions that saw the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Sentuo Oil supply refined petroleum products to oil marketing companies at previous prices.
If the projections materialise, the marginal reductions in petrol and diesel prices could ease some pressure on motorists and transport operators. However, the anticipated increase in LPG prices could raise fuel expenses for households and businesses that depend on the product for other business operations.
The projected prices are indicative, and actual pump prices may vary among oil marketing companies when the new pricing window takes effect on Friday, October 16.
