Mr. George Amoako, the Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has emphatically said that it’s the dream of the porcupine warriors to close the gap between them and their competitors in Africa.

According to the Asante Kotoko CEO, the club is keen on bridging the huge gap between their African competitors and his noble club.

“The gap between us (Asante Kotoko) and our competitors in Africa is very wide and it’s about time we close that gap. These are people we started our football journey but it’s very obvious that they’ve really left us far behind.

Mr. Amoako believes that it’s about time the club attracts good investment into the which will enable the Kumasi based club to put in the right measures.

“The level of investment we have now cannot put us in competition with our competitors. In our first step, we need to mobilize our supporters so they can make little contributions and be able to attract sponsors to the club”.

Mr. Kwesi Appiah, the Former Ghana Black Stars coach, has handed over the official car used during his tenure as head coach to the Football Association.

This came after several reports this week claimed that Coach Kwesi Appiah has refused to release the car because of unpaid wages while he was in charge of the national team.

Quick to show that he was not holding the vehicle hostage over his unpaid salaries, Kwesi Appiah quickly returned the car on Friday evening.

The Land Cruiser was handed over to the FA on Friday through a third party and was seen parked at the premises of the Ghana Football Association.

The GFA had written to Kwesi Appiah to return the car which he did on Friday but he is yet to return the keys to the official residence he used while in charge of the Black Stars coach.

Kwesi Appiah left the Black Stars job after the expiration of his contract in December 2019.

He had two stints with the national team and was the first local coach to qualify the Black Stars to World Cup in 2014.

Godwin Attram , a coach and an ex black stars footballer, has tipped Kumasi Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s biggest football clubs, to win the Ghana Premier League (GPL) despite their mistakes.
Speaking to Nana Gyasi Darkwah, host of SportsPack 1, on Max 89.7 FM, Attram said that the club has the potential to win the league if they continue to stick to the plan of the coach.
According to the ex footballer, the Asante Kotoko players need to learn more to understand certain things concerning the league.
He further said “from the beginning of the league, he has observed very carefully most of the clubs, and how things are unfolding in the league, despite the mistakes of the referees.”
Godwin Attram further stressed that all the Kotoko players that were suffering from injury are back in the team and the moral of the team at the moment is very high.
He added that if they continue to stick to the plans that their coach, Maxwell Konadu, has outlined for them and implement them rightly on the pitch, they are likely to win the league.
