John Boadu: NDC Must Be Locked Down, Released After 2020 Polls

0

John Boadu, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) deserves to be blocked from all public access and released after the 2020 general elections.

According to John Boadu, the NDC is harmful and deadly as the Coronavirus pandemic and should not be granted the audience when they speak.

John Boadu said in an interview with Neat Fm “Do you people still listen to NDC when they speak? Their habit surpasses that of COVID19. We should have blocked them from public access, locked them down and free them after the elections”.

Boadu further stated the party had on several occasions given out mischievous advice and always opposed policies not originating from them.

Citing an example of the persistent pressure by the NDC to airlift Ghanaian students in China back home, John Boadu said the country would have been in mourning by now if the government had heeded to their counsel.

“When the outbreak began, countries like Iran, Italy and others went for their citizens from China and because of that, the NDC was calling on us to also go bring back Ghanaian students from Wuhan. If we had listened to the NDC, we would all have been dead by now.”

He said the fact that democracy exists does not mean that a political party’s misbehaviour should be condoned with.

“That we are in a democratic country doesn’t mean if a political party is misbehaving, we should just sit and watch them,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s current active cases of the novel coronavirus are 195 with five deaths.

About 58 infected persons are receiving treatment at home after 20 of them were recently discharged.

0

According to the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to devote a non-existent $100 million for the fight against the deadly Coronavirus was a complete scam.

Sammy Gyamfi said “you could not get $35 million for projects but went to devote about $100 million available for the fight against coronavirus”.

“The said amount that was supposed to be disbursed by the Finance Minister for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), equip isolation centres, and procure hand sanitizers among others”, Sammy Gyamfi disclosed.

Sammy Gyamfi said the President was lauded by all for making such a bold decision but was disappointed when it emerged that the amount in question was not readily available for use.

“When the Finance Minister went to parliament it came out that what the President said was ‘419’, it was a lie because there was no such any amount anywhere. The government indicated it was going to borrow. It manifest the fact that President Akufo-Addo is sleeping on the job and taking the health needs of Ghanaians of for granted”, he stated.

Sammy Gyamfi stressed that if government is able to raise money for the new voters’ register, then it should be able to raise enough money to contain the health needs of the ordinary Ghanaians having touted his Ghana beyond Aid agenda.

It would be recalled that the President during his maiden address on the coronavirus announced the $100 million fund for the covid-19 fight and directed his finance Minister to release same.

“At my prompting, the Minister for Finance has made available the cedi equivalent of $100 million to enhance our coronavirus preparedness and response plan”

“That is to fund the expansion of infrastructure, purchase of materials and equipment and public education,” President Akufo-Addo said.

“I believe that you and your co-workers are protecting yourselves against this corona virus because this pandemic does not need visa to move. It can attack anyone and anybody at all can also spread the virus and so we all should strive to protect yourselves”, Hon. Inusah Fuseini cautioned.

“If you don’t have any work to do in town, go and stay at home up to the time that the corona virus will vanish. This disease is dangerous; the world will never be the same after COVID-19”, he warned.

Dr. Mensa Otabil : Don’t Do Something Silly And Hope God Will Protect You From Coronavirus

0

Dr. Mensa Otabil, the leader and founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has advised Ghanaians especially Christians to be self-disciplined as the nation is at ‘war’ against the world’s most deadly outbreak, Coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

According to Dr. Mensa Otabil, persons running to pastors for ‘protection oil’ among others should be very careful – adding that, anyone who claims to have faith and therefore cannot get infected with COVID-19 “should not tempt God”.

Dr. Mensa Otabil preached that all must practice self-hygiene as directed by health specialists and stay home to prevent the virus from spreading.

Addressing Ghanaians in a Facebook video on the topic, ‘fear not’, Pastor Otabil said: “Don’t let somebody put ideas in your head that will lead you into fear, into destruction and will lead you to do something that will make you regret.

“We have some very interesting protocols to obey, we are supposed to wash our hands, use sanitizer, use soap to do it frequently, we are supposed to keep our distances, may God lead you in those parts. And if somebody is suggesting to you that you have faith in God and because you have faith in God you can do all things and God will protect you, remember that is an advice leading you astray.

“Satan tempted Jesus Christ and said ‘if you are the son of God, throw yourself down and God will protect you and Jesus didn’t do it but said to Satan get behind me Satan.’ And there are people who think the way to prove the power of God is to tempt God, is to do something risky, is to do something very silly and hope that God will protect them.

“Well, God wants to teach us his way and lead us in a smooth way because we have enemies all around us and I pray that you’ll comport your life, you’ll commit to discipline and you’ll not allow a stray voice to lead you astray. We have an enemy to fight, we have a life ahead of us, the future is going to be great but we have to do the right thing…”

Ghana had recorded a total of 195 confirmed COVID-19 cases with five deaths – 49 are discharged for home care and being strictly monitored by health experts.
