President John Dramani Mahama has assured lessons have been learned after the Brazil 2014 embarrassment.
The Black Stars back in 2014 were embroiled in a mammoth controversy, which led to shake-ups in the squad and the setup of the Justice Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry.
Ghana became a laughing stock to the whole world as the Black Stars exited the tournament just in the first round with a point, as it appeared the players were more focused on their bonuses than dying for the country.
Speaking after Ghana sealed her fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, President Mahama stated the mistakes of 2014 during his first term as president of the country would not be repeated.
“The Brazil 2014 World Cup fiasco dented Ghana’s reputation, but that is all behind us now. We’ve encouraged the GFA to ensure that we are able to process the payments that are due to the players as quickly as possible.” President Mahama said.
