The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting churches that engage in agriculture and agribusiness.
Speaking at a meeting with the clergy on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi, President Mahama emphasized the crucial role agriculture plays in economic transformation. “Agriculture is a viable economic activity that can transform the lives of church members and Ghanaians as a whole,” he stated. He further highlighted his administration’s agenda to reset Ghana’s economy by promoting agriculture as a key sector.
The President assured churches of government support, including access to land, funding, and training, to help them thrive in the agriculture sector. He encouraged religious institutions to invest in farming, agribusiness, and agro-processing to create employment and boost food security.
