A deeply emotional scene unfolded today as a renowned broadcaster and close friend of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, Mr. Kofi Asare Brako, paid a solemn visit to the musician’s residence.
With tears streaming down his face and sorrow embedded in his voice, Kofi Asare Brako was visibly heartbroken by the sudden passing of his dear friend. Arriving at the East Legon home, the atmosphere grew heavy as he was welcomed by grieving family members and fans who had gathered to mourn the icon.
Kofi, known for his deep ties with many figures in the music and media space, could not hold back his emotions. He broke down in tears the moment he stepped into the compound, whispering, “Why now, Lumba? Why so soon?”
“We shared a bond that went beyond just friendship built on years of mutual respect, personal connection, and brotherhood,” he exclaimed.
Speaking briefly to the press, Kofi said, “Daddy Lumba wasn’t just a star. He was a soul I could confide in. He was a family.”
He went ahead and spoke about a song he really liked from the legend Adomako Nyamekye titled Adjoa Pinamang, stating some lyrics from the song, “Yaanom, adeɛ atɔ m’ani ee, Menuanom, owumafo yɛ na oo,” and explaining how the loss of the legend has affected him.
Kofi Asare Brako’s emotional story is a reminder of how deeply Lumba touched the lives of those around him, not only through music, but also through love and friendship.
