#MaxEntertainment: Shirley Frimpong Manso advices young filmmakers

Ghanaian film director, writer, and producer Shirley Frimpong Manso encourages aspiring filmmakers to never give up and to keep learning.

In a recent interview with Belinda Quansah, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, who is known for her award-winning films such as “The Perfect Picture” and “Potato Potahto,” shared her thoughts on what it takes to succeed in the film industry.

“Making films is not easy,” she said. “You have to work very hard and never give up.”

Emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication, she urged young creatives to never give up on their dreams.

She also emphasized the importance of learning and staying up-to-date on the latest trends in filmmaking.

“Read, research, watch a lot of films, and take your phone and shoot something,” she advised.

“Do shorts, take them to festivals, and explore the world. It’s there for your taking.“

She encouraged aspiring filmmakers to utilize their smartphones to shoot short films and submit them to festivals.

“The world is your canvas,” she said. “Explore and seize opportunities.”

Her words of encouragement are sure to inspire aspiring filmmakers to keep pursuing their dreams. With hard work, dedication, and a never-say-die attitude, anything is possible.
