Abrantie the Gentleman, a fashion designer in the country, has lamented about how fashion designers are being disrespected by celebrities.
According to him, this has made fashion designers withdraw from investing into red carpets.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, Abrantie the Gentleman further stated that many designers were running away from investing in personalities for a red carpet show due to how events were organized without proper structure in the country.
”George Quaye advised fashion designers to take the red carpet personally. My brother, designers are running away because the creative ecosystem is not even respecting us. If they are calling me last minute, you’re not showing me respect so I won’t even come in,” he lamented.
The celebrated fashion designer bemoaned that most of the red carpet questions did not even relate to designers of personalities at the show; the act, he stated, pulled away the interest of designers to invest their time and resources in creating top-notch designs for celebrities.
”If I come in for you and you show on the Red Carpet and they ask questions that have no line with me, I lose! Because, on the red carpet and you ask questions that are not relevant to things that the person is wearing and the person goes to sit down, all my hard work has become a waste,” he added.
Abrantie the Gentleman therefore advised event organizers to be intentional about the red carpet for fashion designers to involve themselves in it.
