Black Stars Players To Pocket $100k Appearance Fee Each

Date:

The Ghanaian government, through the minister for sports and recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has unveiled the players’ bonuses for the 2026 World Cup.

The minister confirmed that each member of the national football team, the Black Stars, will receive a participation bonus of $100,000.

This is the same amount that was awarded during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Each player will pocket $100,000 as a bonus for the 2026 World Cup.

He specified that this bonus will be paid simply for being named in the final tournament squad.

The minister also revealed that the government is awaiting the release of an overall budget estimated at 150 million Ghanaian cedis (GH¢) to cover all expenses related to the country’s participation in the World Cup.
