Abdul Karim Zito has registered his first win as interim head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League.
Hired mainly as the Technical Director, but to steer the club to league and MTN FA Cup glory, Zito boosted the morale of spectators at the Baba Yara Stadium in a matchweek 29 win over Aduana FC.
Kwame Opoku scored the only goal of the game in the 25th minute, which turned out to be the all important winner for Kotoko.
The first half of the encounter got more eventful after referee Charles Bulu whistled for a penalty in favour of Aduana FC.
Mohammed Camara saved the spot kick to enhance
Kotoko’s chance of a miraculous capture of the league title following Bibiani Gold Stars and Nations FC’s defeat in the matchweek.
The Porcupine Warriors have now moved to fourth on the league standings, three points shy off leaders, Gold Stars and two off second placed Nations FC.
