Dancehall star Samini says he will not join TikTok Live and similar social media platforms in order to protect his brand from disrespect.
According to the “Linda” hitmaker, he does not want anything to tarnish his reputation as an artiste.
Speaking at the launch of his 2026 Samini Xperience Concert on Friday, October 16, at Kegali in Dansoman, Accra, Samini said not every social media space is relevant for him to embrace, even though he adapts to new ways of doing things.
“I always say there are new ways of doing things, and I always adapt, but it is not everything that I have to embrace. What I see in those spaces, I feel sad,” he said.
He noted that gone are the days when fans could only see artistes after paying for a show, adding that platforms like TikTok have bridged that gap.
Samini explained that TikTok Live gives access to individuals who would ordinarily not get the opportunity to meet an artiste, and some of them end up disrespecting the brand.
“Things like TikTok Live – you are live, and some boys in some corner now have the opportunity to say whatever they want to say to you. And they go overboard to say things to you that if you are not careful as a human being, you get derailed and you say things that can eventually be detrimental to your hard-built brand. So if you don’t see me there, these are the reasons why,” he explained.
