Berima Kenneth Kobina Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Blakk ID, has charged the youth in fashion to do more on marketing.
According to him, the country lacked marketers, which has made Ghana lag behind on the international market.
Speaking in an interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, Berima indicated that Nigerian fashion designers were taking centre stage due to their negotiations and marketing skills.
”What we lack is marketing. Ghanaians are very good at cloth construction but lack marketing skills. Nigerians are very fast with marketing and are able to market their clothes,” he said.
Berima explained that there was the need for fashion students to take advantage of the loophole to fill in the gap to market Ghanaian fashion to the world.
He also cited Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson’s marriage and the manner they used that marriage to market Kente, stressing that she was intentional about it and believed many would travel to the country to follow that trend.
