Carlos Queiroz, head coach of Ghana, insists his team will not abandon their playing style in Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash.
The former Colombia coach admitted he knows many of the players but stressed his analysis has focused on the current team rather than the one he managed.
“I know Colombia and many of the players very well, but it is my responsibility to study today’s Colombia, not yesterday’s,” he said.
The Portuguese coach praised Colombia’s organisation and highlighted the evolution of the squad since his departure.
“Colombia today are a very organised team with discipline and quality in every position. They have changed since the days of Juan Cuadrado and have added another dimension.”
Queiroz said he was particularly impressed by Colombia’s performance against Portugal but remains confident Ghana can cause problems.
“I watched the match against Portugal, and they played very well. Tomorrow is another story. It is Ghana, and we will play with our own style and our own strengths.”
