#SportsPack: Less educated footballers are stubborn – Samuel Anim Addo

Date:

Most footballers, especially Africans, when growing up dreamed of a life of luxury, beautiful models in their arms, and lots of money.

When they have little to no education, this gets worse. One may understand the shift in their behavior, given their backgrounds. They are tone deaf to advice because they follow lavish lifestyles and yearn for the attention of stunning and famous ladies.

Football managers and agents find this kind of behavior extremely irritating, according to Samuel Anim Addo, C.E.O. and talent manager for Young Apostles, a new team in the Ghana Premier League.

“Player management is difficult. Footballers are very stubborn, especially the less educated ones. We need to encourage them to go to school. They stop taking counsel when they become stars.”

For the sake of their own careers, he consequently exhorted football players to educate themselves and heed counsel.
