The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has received 45 military utility vehicles under the government’s ongoing retooling programme to strengthen operational readiness and enhance troop mobility.
The vehicles were handed over on Friday, October 16, 2026, as part of efforts to equip the military to effectively discharge its constitutional mandate.
The fleet comprises 15 KIA utility vehicles, 15 four-by-four vehicles, and 15 six-by-six Troop Carrying Vehicles (TCVs).
The acquisition is expected to enhance troop transportation, improve mobility across difficult terrain, and enable the Army to respond more swiftly to operational demands.
The delivery forms part of the government’s broader drive to modernise the Ghana Armed Forces and strengthen the country’s national security capabilities.
The initiative is also intended to boost the military’s capacity to protect Ghana’s territorial integrity and respond effectively to emerging security challenges.
