The Noeline Kumor Blood Drive (NKBD), held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. John’s Grammar School in Accra, recorded a successful turnout, collecting 87 units of blood in support of the National Blood Service Ghana.
The event was held in partnership with JOHNSCO @70, marking the 70th anniversary of St. John’s Grammar School, and received additional support from Blessed Care International.
At the heart of the initiative is Noeline Tsifokpor-Virolle Kumor, a tireless blood donation advocate with a personal record of 48 donations since 1999.
“I started donating blood on 26th October 1999 while in SHS at St. John’s Grammar School,” she said. “I’ve since donated 48 times and continue to support the National Blood Service through talks and recruitment drives.”
Rev. Louis M. Hiagbe, Global President of the St. John’s Old Students Association (JOSA), also participated in the donation exercise and hailed the impressive turnout. “Every donor here has helped save a life today, and that’s worth celebrating,” he noted.
Held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the drive drew dozens of volunteers under the energizing theme: “Donating Blood Is a Bloody Good Job – JOSA For Life!”
Organisers extended their heartfelt appreciation to all donors, partners, and sponsors, reinforcing the critical role such drives play in sustaining Ghana’s emergency and critical care servic
