2026 WAFCON: Morocco thrash Kenya to go above Algeria

Date:

The Atlas Lionesses of Morocco kicked off their journey in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in the best possible way.

Facing Kenya this Sunday at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Complex in Rabat, the Moroccan women asserted their dominance with a resounding 4-0 victory.

Morocco had already built a comfortable 3-0 lead by halftime thanks to goals from Sakina Ouzraoui in the 19th minute, Maryam Atiq in the 28th, and Ibtissam Jraidi in the 31st.

The Moroccans kept up the pressure after the break, with Ibtissam Jraidi bagging her second and the team’s fourth in the 49th minute.

The host nation took control of Group A after Algeria had beaten Senegal 2-0 in the first game of the tournament.
