Artiste manager Emmanuel Barnes, popularly known as Mr. Logic, says many up-and-coming musicians have severed ties with their managers after making it in the industry.
According to him, young musicians, after securing visas for international gigs, turn to forget about their managers, who invested in their crafts to support their success stories.
Expressing concern about the growing trend of such ungrateful acts on the part of some young musicians, Mr. Logic noted that the act did not only undermine trust and loyalty but also disrupted the collaborative efforts that drive success in the music industry.
“As for our people from here, you put in the work for them, and they don’t appreciate it. Those who are across borders appreciate the work music executives put in,” he said.
Narrating his personal experience, Mr. Logic said the last artiste he worked with got a UK visa and decided not to work with him again.
“A lot of them see getting a visa as a breakthrough, he added.
Mr. Logic, therefore, expressed the need for young musicians to learn from foreign artists to stay loyal to their investors and managers as a means to help the industry grow and also to motivate music executives to invest in talents in the country.
