Renowned gospel musicians Diana Asamoah and Edward Akwasi Boateng are trading harsh words against each other over advice the evangelist gave to the latter in his financial crisis.
It could be recalled that Akwasi Boateng was gifted a car, a monthly stipend, and scholarships for his children by Prophet Bernard El Bernard after a viral video showed the veteran musician selling flash drives containing his songs at transport stations.
Diana Asamoah, expressing her view on Akwasi Boateng’s situation, advised him to use the car for Uber in order for him to gain money for car maintenance, fueling, and most especially to make income for his daily upkeep so he would not beg in the future.
She urged her colleague to invest wisely now that well-wishers have donated hefty sums to help alleviate his recent financial crisis.
Diana was of the view that a gospel minister requesting for help or in need undermined the supremacy of God, quizzing, “Is he not the same person who sang that no servant of the Lord will beg for bread?”
However, her opinion was not appreciated by Akwasi Boateng, who termed it unsolicited, demeaning, and an insult to his reputation.
He expressed disappointment in Diana and charged her to keep her unwarranted and disrespectful divine direction to herself.
Edward explained that he was a hardworking man and was even selling second-hand clothes when he was releasing hit-to-hit tracks during his heyday.
He said he built his first house at the age of 30, a feat Diana couldn’t beat, and warned her to be mindful of her life.
