The Black Queens have landed in Côte d’Ivoire to continue their build-up to the rescheduled 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to kick off in July in Morocco.
The senior women’s national team arrived on Wednesday afternoon and are set to play two international friendlies against the Ivorian women’s national team on May 30 and June 3 in Abidjan.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has called up a solid squad for the international window as he fine-tunes preparations ahead of the tournament. Among the traveling contingent is debutant Louisa Aniwaa, receiving her first senior call-up, alongside goalkeeper Afi Amenyeku. Nancy Amoh, Princess Marfo, and Cynthia Konlan have also made the trip.
The upcoming friendlies are expected to offer the technical team a final assessment of the squad’s readiness as Ghana aims to make a strong impression at WAFCON 2024
