GPL: Legon Cities FC defeats Great Olympics with a 2-0 win

Date:

With an impressive performance on Sunday afternoon, Legon Cities FC defeated Accra Great Olympics 2-0 in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Known as the Royals, Legon Cities FC went into the match against Great Olympics as underdogs. With a great desire to earn a positive result, Bashir Hayford, head coach for the side, has managed to guide his team to pick maximum points.

Legon Cities FC, on the matchday at the Accra Sports Stadium, fought to keep Accra Landlords at bay.

Legon Cities FC, who were pegged at goalless at halftime, opened up their play in the second half while defending as a unit in a compact form.

Defender Nicholas Mensah, in the 60th minute, came on as a substitute and scored to shoot the Royals into a deserved lead.

Poster boy Jonah Attuquaye, displaying fine form ten minutes later, smashed home his effort to double the lead for Legon Cities FC.

Legon Cities, who defended well from there on, have amassed all three points from the matchday 19 fixture against Great Olympics.
