Gospel songstress, Mavis Asante, has expressed regret about how controversy among gospel singers is destroying their singing careers.
According to her, the gospel of Christ doesn’t need controversy to sell because the name itself is sold out already.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra last Thursday, Mavis Asante maintained that controversy among gospel musicians was rather making their careers take a backseat.
”I always say that we are selling Christ Jesus (Kristo), and that name is sold out already. So you don’t need controversy, you don’t need to do too much when you’re selling that name,” she stated.
Mavis Asante therefore entreated colleagues not to sing for professional and business purposes but charged them to do it as a ministry.
Citing Daughters of Glorious Jesus and the Tagoe Sisters, she said they sang for ministry purposes, and their ministry had flourished and stood the test of time.
