Gladson Awako: Samuel Boadu has done so well, give him more time

Date:

Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako wants coach Samuel Boadu to be given more time with the team since he has indubitably proven to be an excellent coach since being hired.

Following the team’s failure to defend its league title, numerous board members and Hearts supporters have called for coach Samuel Boadu to be fired.

Samuel Boadu’s contract with the team was confirmed by the Hearts of Oak board on March 1, 2021. He led the Accra-based team to three championships in the next football campaign.

Samuel Boadu has done a lot for the Phobians in just two years as president, according to Awako, who is also the captain of the Black Galaxies, who said as much on an Accra-based FM station.

“Boadu has done so well. He has won three trophies. As players we are there to work with any coach that comes in but I will be happy if they give him some time,” he said.

“He has spent less than two years at the club and there are new players coming in so he needs time to know these players. Last season wasn’t that bad even though we couldn’t finish in the top four but I think he has done a good job for the club,” he added.
