Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the summons of the Israeli Embassy for an intense meeting.
This summons was deemed necessary by the Foreign Affairs Ministry after the detention of a seven-member Ghanaian delegation to Israel for the Annual International Cybersecurity Conference in Tel Aviv.
Four persons of the team were detained for nearly five hours, while the remaining three were immediately deported for reasons unknown to the Ghanaians.
The unprovoked incident occurred on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and it took “strenuous diplomatic intervention” to have the four detained persons released.
The Government of Ghana has disclosed it is considering a reciprocal action and is set to meet the Israeli Embassy today, December 10, 2025.
