Desmond Ofei has expressed immense optimism about qualifying the Black Meteors of Ghana for the 2026 LA Olympic Games.
Ghana received a bye into the second round of the qualifying rounds for the 2027 U-23 AFCON, which serves as another qualifying pathway for the Olympics.
The head coach of the team, Ofei, is currently preparing to face the winner of the Togo vs Libya match on November 9 and 17, 2026.
Speaking to the media after a scouting duty at the Hearts of Oak vs. Basake Holy Stars last Friday, he said, “100 per cent that we will qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games.”
“I believe we can qualify because I feel the time is right, and it has been way too long, and we are preparing well, and the boys are hungry,” he added.
Ghana is looking to end a 24-year wait for a return to the Olympic Games.
