2025 AFCON: Simba, Azam Stars Dominate Tanzania Squad; Keyekeh Misses Out

Tanzania head coach Miguel Gamondi has announced a 28-man squad for the forthcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mbwana Samatta earns a place in the squad after rediscovering his form with Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre.

Iraq-based forward Simon Msuva has been a standout performer for the Taifa Stars in recent years.

Former Ghana Premier League winner Emmanuel Keyekeh, who naturalised for the Tanzanians in early 2025, misses out on the squad.

The squad is dominated by players from the Tanzanian Premier League.

Tanzania, who will be making their fourth AFCON appearance in Morocco, have never made it out of the group stage.

The Taifa Stars are drawn in a difficult group alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and regional rivals Uganda.
