DOUBLE FRIENDLY SHOWDOWN: Ghana’s Black Queens to face Côte d’Ivoire

Date:

Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, will face Côte d’Ivoire in a pair of high-profile international friendly matches as part of their May Training Tour.

The matches are scheduled for May 30 and June 3, 2025.

These friendlies, set to take place in Abidjan, serve as crucial tune-up games for Coach Kim side as they intensify preparations for upcoming international assignments, including the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and long-term goals toward the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Black Queens are expected to field a strong squad, featuring both local and international stars who have impressed in recent months. The squad’s chemistry, discipline, and improved style of play have reignited hopes of restoring Ghana’s dominance on the African women’s football scene.

The Ivorians, also on a rebuilding mission, will offer stiff opposition—providing the Queens with an ideal test of character, tactical fluidity, and mental fortitude.

These matches follow a string of successful outings by the Queens under Coach Häuptle, who remains unbeaten in her last several fixtures.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has emphasized the importance of such high-intensity friendlies in preparing the team for major competitions.
