Nigerian musician Iyanya has revealed that he played along with his relationship with Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson after discovering an unpleasant chat between the actress and her friend.
He stated that his intentions with Yvonne were genuine until he chanced on a WhatsApp chat of Yvonne with her friend.
The “Oreo” hitmaker stated that Yvonne told her friend in a chat that she was using him as a gateway to reach other industry “top dogs.”
“Somehow, as a sharp guy, I saw her conversation where she was telling her friend, She is just with me for the spotlight and to meet other TOP DOGS,” he said in a recent post.
Iyanya, who had reluctantly shared the reason for his split with Yvonne, finally opened up that after realizing the chat, he then played along with Yvonne till the relationship itself crashed.
“I just had to play along until it crashed,” he added.
Iyanya went further to state that he was unfairly judged more, especially when the actress released her book “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” to project him as a cheap cheat who cheated on her with Tonto Dikeh.
“You are all just judging, calling me a hit and run because the energy we started with isn’t the same it ended with. That is life for you. I would have been used, but you don’t know,” he explained.
Iyanya failed to mention the names of the top industry dogs who Yvonne allegedly mentioned their names in the chat.
“I won’t call their names, so I do not give bloggers something to feed on,” he stated.
The relationship of Iyanya and Yvonne came to the spotlight over a decade ago, and Iyanya was believed to have jilted her, which made his name appear in Yvonne’s memoir as one of her industry lovers who did not treat her well.
Yvonne Nelson won public sympathy with the book as she narrated how the industry boys used her and dumped her, with rapper Sarkodie being shamed over the abortion he did with Yvonne without taking responsibility for the said pregnancy.
