Former Fulham and Portsmouth player Diomansy Kamara has criticized European clubs for the treatment of African players.

The footballer-turned agent reacted following the collapse of transfers of two of his clients, Ismaila Sarr and Lamine Camara.

Lamine Camara was expected to join Chelsea on transfer deadline day, only for his club, AS Monaco to pull the plug much to the anger of the English team.

Sarr had hoped to secure a move away from Crystal Palace amid links to Liverpool and Galatasaray but ultimately finished the window at Crystal Palace.

Kamara posted on his Instagram story: “The cases of Ismaila Sarr and Lamine Camara must all interrogate us.

“We have to get out of this logic where the African player can sometimes give the feeling that he is just a commodity: you buy it, you set its price, you negotiate its future and, too often, your will seems to go to the background.

“Our African players deserve respect. The respect of their work. The respect of their career. Respecting their ambitions. The respect of their voices.”
