Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey has just capped another successful season with Ludogorets, clinching both the Bulgarian Cup and league title—a feat that strengthens his case for a return to the Black Stars.
Though he didn’t feature in the Bulgarian Cup final against CSKA Sofia, Tekpetey was instrumental throughout the season. His contributions helped Ludogorets secure their third consecutive Cup triumph and yet another league championship.
This double adds to his growing trophy haul, now totaling nine major titles in Bulgaria—including five league crowns.
A former Schalke 04 forward and a member of Ghana’s 2017 AFCON squad, Tekpetey has matured into one of the country’s most decorated players in Europe. His consistency, experience in continental competitions, and winning mentality make him a valuable asset.
Despite past injury setbacks and interest from Eredivisie clubs, Tekpetey has remained a resilient and impactful presence at Ludogorets. His form and experience could be key for Ghana as the Black Stars look to rebuild and strengthen ahead of future qualifiers and tournaments.
With his return to Ghana for the off-season, now is the perfect time for national selectors to consider reintegrating Tekpetey into the squad. His winning pedigree and versatility on the flanks could add depth and competition in Ghana’s attacking options.
