Legendary Highlife musician Akablay has expressed concern about how Ghana has neglected its music and creative art to the detriment of the people.
He bemoaned that all the cinema halls and cultural centers in the country meant to teach the public about music and arts are sold out.
Speaking in an interview on Max Morning Show in Accra on Thursday, Akablay decried that all cultural and art centers were sold out to build churches.
He maintained that the act has massively affected the creative art sector.
”The country has sold all cinema halls and cultural centers in the country to build churches. If you go to Brong Ahafo and Tamale, there’s no cultural center and cinema hall. Aside from the National Theater we have in Accra, if you go to Takoradi and other parts of the regions you need to book a hotel before you could host a program,” Akablay lamented.
