The Black Princesses of Ghana got the better of South Korea to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

Ghana saw off Korea in a resurging encounter as they won 3-1 on matchday two after their defeat to Ecuador on matchday one.

Having dominated the first half, Ghana were held at bay by a solid South Korean side.

After the break, the Black Princesses launched another assault on the opposition’s defence.

Their efforts were rewarded in the 52nd minute when captain Sarah Nyarko opened the scoring.

The South Koreans had no time to recover. Three minutes later, Ivy Owusu Osei capitalised on the confusion to double the lead.

In the 84th minute, Ghana delivered the final blow. Following a pass from Angel Akanyirige, substitute Ruth Amponsah finished the move to make it 3–0.

South Korea salvaged some pride. Beom Yeju pulled one back, but it did nothing to alter the result.
