Chelsea have produced a remarkable second-half response at Stamford Bridge.

Xabi Alonso’s side found themselves in serious trouble in their League Cup third-round clash with Leeds.

Tarik Muharemovic opened the scoring for the visitors in the 23rd minute, and shortly after the restart Brenden Aaronson doubled Leeds’ advantage to make it 0-2.

Cole Palmer, who came on at half-time, pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute and struck again just two minutes later to make it 2-2.

The Blues continued to pile on the pressure and completed an extraordinary turnaround, going from 0-2 down to taking the lead in the space of only eight minutes through Pedro Neto.

Veteran striker Danny Welbeck added the fourth before Dominic Calvert-Lewin reduced the deficit but Valentine Barco’s goal and Welbeck’s second of the game to seal a dominant comeback.
