Tuesday UCL Wrap: Lewandowski pressed Brest for 100th goal, as Man City flops again

Date:

Manchester City blew a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord in the Champions League as their wretched form continued at a stunned Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side looked to be cruising after two goals from Erling Haaland and another from Ilkay Gundogan put the hosts into a commanding lead.

Anis Hadj Moussa took advantage of a mistake by Josko Gvardiol to score Feyenoord’s first goal, before substitute Santiago Gimenez chested in his side’s second in the 82nd minute to set up a grandstand finish.

The visitors completed a comeback to remember when David Hancko pounced in the 89th minute to leave City boss Guardiola shaking his head in disbelief – and some City fans booing at full-time.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were comfortable in what could have been a tricky away fixture against Sporting Lisbon, as Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel, Saka and Leandro Trossard all scored in a 1-5 win.

Inter Milan won their fourth Champions League game in a row with a narrow victory over winless RB Leipzig.

The Nerazzurri took the lead in the 27th minute as Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba turned Federico Dimarco’s free-kick into his own goal.

Bayern Munich boosted their hopes of a top-eight finish in the league phase with a narrow victory over Paris St-Germain, who remain winless in the Champions League since September.

Defender Kim Min-jae scored the only goal seven minutes before the interval, nodding home from close range after PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov had failed to deal with Joshua Kimmich’s inswinging corner.

Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen cruised past Red Bull Salzburg to seal their third Champions League win of the season.

Florian Wirtz bagged a brace as Alex Grimaldo, Patrick Schick and Aleix Garcia each scored to hand Xani Alonso’s invincibles a stellar 5-0 win.

Tammy Abraham scored his first Champions League goal for AC Milan and what proved to be decisive, as the Serie A side beat Slovan Bratislava to claim a third consecutive victory in the competition.

Christian Pulisic had given the visitors a deserved first-half lead from Abraham’s precise pass, but the hosts equalised just three minutes later through Tigran Barseghyan.

Rafael Leao collected Youssouf Fofana’s through ball and steered a cool finish past Takac to make it 1-2.

Abraham netted Milan’s third just three minutes later, but Slovan set up a nervy finish when Nino Marcelli sent a magnificent strike into the top corner with two minutes remaining.

Robert Lewandowski became the third player to score 100 Champions League goals with a brace as Barcelona overcame Brest in a dominant display after Dani Olmo netted his first European goal.

Charles de Ketelaere scored twice and provided three assists as Atalanta ran out 6-1 winners away at Swiss side Young Boys in the Champions League.

Italian star Retegui also bagged a brace, as Sead Kolašinac and Samardžić also added their names to the scoring chart.

Former Manchester City star Julian Alvarez, and Andrea Correa scored a brace each, together with Marcos Llorente and Antoine Griezmann strikes as Atletico Madrid dominated Slavia Prague in Prague.
