The Sun UK has reported that Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee was never wanted at the club by sacked manager Erik ten Hag.
Zirkzee’s transfer to the club from Bologna was instigated by the Ineos Group led by Sir Jimmy Ratcliffe.
Reports indicated that Erik ten Hag was livid when the 23-year-old arrived at the club overweight.
Zirkzee scored his first and only goal for Manchester United against Fulham on his debut on the opening day of the 2024-25 Premier League season.
The former Bayern Munich youngster has struggled for a place in the starting lineup since Ruud Van Nistelrooy took over as interim manager for the club.
