Pius Hadzide: Govt Has Completed Over 300 Health Facilities So Far

Date:

Pius Enam Hadzide, the Deputy Information Minister, has revealed that the government of Ghana is working on over 600 new health facilities.

According to Pius Enam Hadzide, these facilities include; Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, nurses’ quarters, doctors’ bungalows, maternity wards, district hospitals among others.

Pius Enam Hadzide, who was speaking in an interview on an Accra-based FM station, said that “from the smallest facility to the biggest; we’re working on over 600; fresh ones out of which about 300 have been completed and 300 are yet to be completed”.

He reiterated that the ruling government has not abandoned health projects started by the previous NDC administration.

According to the Deputy Minister, they inherited about 31 health facilities; out which 15 have been completed.

He further said for instance ten (10) health facilities started by the previous NDC administration in the Central region have all been completed by the Akufo-Addo administration.

” . . so it is never true that we’ve abandoned Mahama’s hospitals. The NDC administration indeed started some of them and we have completed most of them,” he said.
